Following a childhood spent writing ‘pretend’ books, most notably, Our Book about Jesus – a self-help guide for young Catholics. And, The Sleepover – a compelling tale of a midnight feast, shockingly intercepted by fictitious parents with badly-drawn hands, Patricia always liked playing with words.
Patricia Caliskan first saw her name misspelt in print aged 17, interviewing illegible musicians and hungover actors for an Arts and Entertainment magazine.
After graduating from the University of Liverpool, Patricia joined Trinity Mirror Newsgroup, spending 10 years acting as editor across a portfolio of magazine titles.
Never one to shy away from a sonic ident, after writing everything from erotic fiction to Asbestos safety pamphlets, Patricia joined Bauer Media as a commercial scriptwriter.
Patricia likes a good pair of boots, wearing perfume with her pyjamas, and laughter. Lots of laughter. Because without it life feels far too grown up for her liking.
Her debut novel, Awful by Comparison, was published by Endeavour Press in August 2016.
Her second novel, Girlfriend, Interrupted, will be published by Sapere Books in April 2018.
